This 56’
general service tank car is painted green and lettered in white. It was built by
Union Tank Car Company in December 1999 and serviced August 2002. This car,
leased to Shell Canada, and was painted green by request of Shell Canada.
Normally, the tankers are painted black, or white when solar heat-pickup needs
to be minimized. Procor LP manages Canada’s largest private rail car rental
fleet, having grown to include more than 22,000 conventional and special-purpose
tank and freight cars. Procor’s affiliate, Union Tank Car Company (UTLX),
has manufacturing facilities located in East Chicago, Indiana and Houston
(Sheldon), Texas.
